The trail is primarily used in the warmer months for bicycling, running, jogging and walking.  No motor vehicles are allowed on the trail in the summer.

ATV's are prohibited.

In the winter time snowmobiling and cross country skiing is popular along the trail when there is decent snow cover. There are several poker runs put on by the Sac County Sno-Lovers in the winter that attract many snowmobilers from the area.

There are several geocache's on or near the trail. Check http://www.geocaching.com for GPS coordinates and the current status of the caches.
